The email arrives while Marcus is still on his first coffee.
Subject: FIT 4 SAP Scope Agreement — Two Warehouses, One Truth
Attachment: one PDF.
He was expecting this. Isard said it would arrive Monday. It's Monday. Here it is.
Marcus has reviewed a lot of contracts in his career. Vendor agreements. SI proposals. NDAs. Service level commitments. He knows the genre. Thirty pages of legalese, buried terms, carefully worded escape clauses.
He opens the PDF.
It's not thirty pages.
It's eight.
Two Warehouses, One Truth
Marcus stares at this for a moment.
It's not "S/4HANA Readiness Assessment" or "Pre-Implementation Discovery Phase" or any of the other consultant word-salads he's used to seeing. It's the actual problem, named plainly.
Two warehouses. One truth.
That's what they discussed on the call. That's what Sarah's been living with for twelve years. That's the gap between the process maps and the spreadsheets.
He keeps reading.
A table. Six rows.
